To the Office of the Governor-General

From the detainee held in custody
at the Batumi City Prison,

Iosif Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili

MOST HUMBLE PETITION

An ever-worsening suffocating cough, and the helpless condition of my aged mother, abandoned by her husband now twelve years and seeing in me her sole support in life, compel me to address the Office of the Governor-General a second time with the most humble request to release me from detention under police surveillance. I implore the Office of the Governor-General not to leave me without attention and to respond to my petition.
