Dear Vyacheslav!

Just received your latest letter by courier. Regarding China, I think three or four million could be sent now on account of the ten million, while the question of fifteen million should be postponed. They are demanding another fifteen million from us, evidently in order to refuse to take immediate action against Chiang Kai-shek if we do not give these fifteen million rubles.

As for the holy trinity (R.+Or.+V.), I will hold my tongue about this for now, since there will be many more occasions to discuss it. Or. [Ordzhonikidze] is a "good fellow," but as a politician he is flimsy. He has always been a "naive" politician. V. [Voroshilov] is probably simply "out of sorts." As for R. [Rykov], he is "scheming," believing that this is precisely what constitutes "real politics."

Regards.
