Hello, mama — my dear!

I received your letter. I also received the jam, churchkhela, and figs. The children were very pleased and send you their thanks and greetings.

I am glad that you feel well and in good spirits.

I am healthy, do not worry about me. I shall endure my lot. I do not know whether you need money or not.

Just in case, I am sending you five hundred rubles. I am also sending photographs — my own and the children's.

Be well, mama — my dear!

Do not lose your good spirits!

A kiss,

Your son Soso.

March 24, 1934.

The children send their regards. Since Nadya's death, my personal life has of course been difficult. But it is nothing; a courageous person must always remain courageous.
