I received the letter with the proposal not to demolish the Sukharev Tower. The decision to demolish the tower was taken by the government some time ago. Personally, I consider this decision correct, believing that Soviet people will be able to create more magnificent and more memorable examples of architectural creativity than the Sukharev Tower. I regret that, despite all my respect for you, I do not have the opportunity in this case to render you a service.
