State Defense Committee Resolution No. 1241s of February 4, 1942, on the Distribution of Responsibilities Among the Members of the State Defense Committee

The State Defense Committee resolves:

1. To assign to Comrade Molotov: oversight of tank production, control of the fulfillment of orders for tanks and tank armament, and also oversight of the People's Commissariat of the Tank Industry. Also to assign to Comrade Molotov the oversight of production at the People's Commissariats of Medium and Heavy Machine Building.

2. To assign to Comrade Malenkov: oversight of aircraft and aviation engine production, control of the fulfillment of orders for aircraft and aviation engines, and also oversight of the People's Commissariat of the Aviation Industry.

3. To assign to Comrade Beria: production of armaments and ammunition, control of the fulfillment of orders for armaments and ammunition, and also oversight of the People's Commissariats of Armaments and Ammunition.

4. To assign to Comrade Voznesensky: as before, the matters of the Council of People's Commissars and the State Planning Commission of the USSR relating to the economy and production.

5. To assign to Comrade Mikoyan: as before, the supply of the Red Army with food, fuel, uniforms, and related equipment, together with questions pertaining to the rear services.

6. To assign to Comrade Kaganovich: as before, transport.

I. Stalin
