ORDER

OF THE SUPREME COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF

To Army General Rokossovsky

Troops of the 1st Belorussian Front, continuing their successful offensive, today, 26 June, captured the city and large railway junction of Zhlobin — an important strongpoint of the German defences in the Bobruisk direction.

In the fighting for the capture of the city of Zhlobin, distinction was won by troops of Lieutenant-General Romanenko, Major-General Pichugin, Colonel Petrovsky, Colonel Massonov; artillerymen of Colonel Travkin, Lieutenant-Colonel Bublikov; airmen of Lieutenant-Colonel Grishchenko, and pontoon engineers of Lieutenant-Colonel Masik.

To commemorate the victory, the formations and units which distinguished themselves most in the fighting for the liberation of the city of Zhlobin shall be recommended for conferment of the title "Zhlobin" and for award of orders.

Today, 26 June, at 23 hours, the capital of our Motherland, Moscow, on behalf of the Motherland, salutes the valiant troops of the 1st Belorussian Front that captured the city of Zhlobin with twelve artillery salvoes from one hundred and twenty-four guns.

For excellent combat operations I express my thanks to the troops under your command who participated in the fighting for the liberation of the city of Zhlobin.

Eternal glory to the heroes who fell in the fighting for the freedom and independence of our Motherland!
