ORDER

OF THE SUPREME COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF

To Army General Rokossovsky

Troops of the 1st Belorussian Front, developing their swift offensive, today, 28 June, as a result of a deep outflanking manoeuvre captured the city and important railway junction of Osipovichi, thereby completing the encirclement of the Bobruisk group of German troops.

In the fighting for the capture of Osipovichi, distinction was won by troops of Lieutenant-General Batov, Major-General Ivanov, Major-General Alexeyev, Major-General Sankovsky, Colonel Morozov; tankmen of Major-General of Tank Troops Panov; airmen of Colonel-General of Aviation Rudenko.

To commemorate the victory, the formations and units which distinguished themselves most in the fighting for the capture of Osipovichi shall be recommended for award of orders.

Today, 28 June, at 23 hours, the capital of our Motherland, Moscow, on behalf of the Motherland, salutes the valiant troops of the 1st Belorussian Front that captured Osipovichi with twenty artillery salvoes from two hundred and twenty-four guns.

For excellent combat operations I express my thanks to the troops under your command who participated in the fighting for the liberation of Osipovichi.

Eternal glory to the heroes who fell in the fighting for the freedom and independence of our Motherland!
