The troops of the 1st Byelorussian Front, having broken the resistance of the encircled Bobruisk group of German forces, today, June 29, captured by storm the city and large railway station of Bobruisk — an important communications hub and powerful strongpoint of the German defence covering the directions toward Minsk and Baranovichi.

In the fighting for the capture of the city of Bobruisk, the following troops distinguished themselves: the forces of Lieutenant General Gorbatov, Lieutenant General Romanenko, Lieutenant General Batov, Major General Urbanovich, Major General Alekseyev, Major General Teremov, Major General Grigoryevsky, Major General Mokhin, Major General Zhabrev, Major General Makarov, Colonel Pogrebnyak, Colonel Massonov, [Lieutenant Colonel] Lukin, Colonel Vdovin, Major General Gorishny, Colonel Volkov; the artillerymen of Colonel General of Artillery Kazakov, Major General of Artillery Beskin, Major General of Artillery Shamshin, Lieutenant Colonel Goncharuk, Colonel Akimushkin, Colonel Oleinik, Engineer Colonel Merkulov, Lieutenant Colonel Orlov, Lieutenant Colonel Ostreiko, Colonel Tsarev, Major Palgov; the tankmen of Major General of Tank Forces Bakharov, Major General of Tank Forces Panov, Major General of Tank Forces Filippov, Colonel Kuznetsov, Lieutenant Colonel Baranyuk, Lieutenant Colonel Trushkin, Colonel Shulgin, Colonel Kozhanov, Lieutenant Colonel Sokolov, Colonel Ryzhanov, [Lieutenant Colonel] Balykov, [Lieutenant Colonel] Vasilyev, [Lieutenant Colonel] Tideman; the airmen of Colonel General of Aviation Rudenko, Lieutenant General of Aviation Osipenko, Major General of Aviation Karavatsky, Major General of Aviation Krupsky, Major General of Aviation Komarov, Major General of Aviation Baidyukov, Colonel Borisenko, Colonel Chirva; the sailors of Captain 1st Rank Grigoryev, Captain 2nd Rank Lyalko, Captain 3rd Rank Peskov; the sappers of Colonel Gaber, Colonel Pruss; and the signallers of Lieutenant Colonel Zhukov.

In commemoration of the victory achieved, the formations and units that have most distinguished themselves in the fighting for the liberation of the city of Bobruisk are to be nominated for the designation "Bobruisk" and for decoration with orders.

Today, June 29, at 23:00 hours, the capital of our Motherland, Moscow, on behalf of the Motherland, salutes the valiant troops of the 1st Byelorussian Front who have captured the city of Bobruisk — with twenty artillery salvoes from two hundred and twenty-four guns.

For excellent combat operations I declare gratitude to the troops under your command who participated in the fighting for the liberation of Bobruisk.

Eternal glory to the heroes who fell in battle for the freedom and independence of our Motherland!
