ORDER

SUPREME COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF

Troops of the 3rd Ukrainian Front, having gone over to the offensive, forced a crossing of the Danube north of the River Drava, broke through the enemy defenses on the western bank of the Danube, and, having advanced to a depth of up to 40 kilometers, expanded the breakthrough to 150 kilometers along the front.

During the offensive, the front's forces on the territory of Hungary captured the cities and major communication hubs of Pécs, Bátaszék, Mohács, and took more than 330 other populated localities in combat.

In the battles during the forcing of the Danube and the breakthrough of the enemy’s defense, the following troops distinguished themselves: Lieutenant General Sharokhin, Major General Akimenko, Major General Kravtsov, Major General Blagodatov, the Yugoslav corps of Lieutenant General Kosta Nadj, Colonel Petrushin, Major General Dreyer, Major General Lazarev, Major General Kozak, Colonel Mukhamedyarov, Major General Kulizhsky, Colonel Sidorenko, Colonel Sychev, Major General Tsvetkov, Lieutenant Colonel Savich; the artillerymen of Colonel General of Artillery Nedelin, Major General of Artillery Breydo, Colonel Glushkov, Colonel Gladkov, Colonel Goncharov, Colonel Usik, Lieutenant Colonel Shpek, Lieutenant Colonel Rakhlin, Major Seleznev, Lieutenant Colonel Snytin, Lieutenant Colonel Nizkov; the tankmen of Colonel Pshenetsky, Colonel Zavyalov, Lieutenant Colonel Mukhin, Lieutenant Colonel Dvorkin, Major Katilov, Lieutenant Colonel Shevkin; the pilots of Colonel General of Aviation Sudets, Lieutenant General of Aviation Tolstikov, Major General of Aviation Belitsky, Colonel Smirnov, Lieutenant Colonel Shatalin, Major General of Aviation Tishchenko, Colonel Nedosekin, Colonel Ivanov; the sappers of Colonel General of Engineer Troops Kotlyar, Colonel Nominas, Lieutenant Colonel Rybalsky; the signalmen of Lieutenant General of Signal Troops Korolev, Colonel Staroletov.

In commemoration of the victory achieved, the formations and units that most distinguished themselves in the battles during the forcing of the Danube and the breakthrough of the enemy's defense shall be recommended for the conferment of the designation "Danube" and for the awarding of orders.

Today, November 29, at 21:00 hours, the capital of our Motherland, Moscow, on behalf of the Motherland, salutes the valiant troops of the 3rd Ukrainian Front, including the Yugoslav corps of Lieutenant General Kosta Nađ, who forced the Danube and broke through the enemy’s defenses, with twenty artillery salvos from two hundred and twenty-four guns.

For excellent combat actions, I express gratitude to the troops under your command who participated in the battles during the crossing of the Danube and the breakthrough of the enemy's defense.

Eternal glory to the heroes who fell in battle for the freedom and independence of our Motherland!
