The troops of the 2nd Belorussian Front, developing their rapid offensive, today, 1 May, captured the cities of Stralsund, Grimmen, Demmin[104], Malchin[105], Waren, Neustrelitz — important road junctions and strong strongpoints of the German defences.

In commemoration of the victory won, the formations and units that distinguished themselves most in the battles for the capture of the cities of Stralsund, Grimmen, Demmin, Malchin, Waren, Neustrelitz are to be submitted for decoration with orders.

Today, 1 May, at 22 hours, the capital of our Motherland, Moscow, in the name of the Motherland salutes the valiant troops of the 2nd Belorussian Front who captured the aforementioned cities with twenty artillery salvoes from two hundred and twenty-four guns.

For the excellent combat operations I declare my gratitude to the troops under your command who participated in the battles for the capture of the aforementioned cities.

Eternal glory to the heroes who fell in the battles for the freedom and independence of our Motherland!
