Chongqing.
Mister Generalissimo,

I thank you for your kind letter, delivered to me by your son Mister Jiang Jingguo on December 30, 1945.

In the conversations that I had with him, a number of questions of Soviet-Chinese relations and certain other problems of interest to China and the Soviet Union were touched upon. I hope that the relations between our countries will develop in accordance with the Soviet-Chinese treaty, to which I will continue to devote constant attention.

The recently concluded conference of the foreign ministers of the three powers in Moscow produced useful results and, what should be especially noted, it helped to resolve postwar problems of the Far East, which are of such great importance for China and the USSR.

Accept, Mister Generalissimo, the assurances of my highest esteem and my best wishes.

I. Stalin
