Between socialist Russia and the revolutionary West a partition wall has been erected in the shape of the occupied regions.
Whereas in Russia the Red flag has been waving for over a year now, and in the West, in Germany and Austria-Hungary, outbreaks of proletarian uprisings are multiplying daily and hourly, in the occupied regions, in Finland, Estland, Latvia, Lithuania, Byelorussia, Poland, Bessarabia, the Ukraine and the Crimea, bourgeois nationalist “governments” continue to drag out a wretched existence by the grace of the imperialists of the West whose time is coming to an end.
Whereas in the East and in the West “great” monarchs and “sovereign” imperialists have already been relegated to the nether regions, in the occupied areas petty kinglets and puny robbers continue to rule, committing lawlessness and violence against the workers and peasants, arresting and shooting them. More, these out-of-date “governments” are feverishly organizing their “national” whiteguard “regiments,” are preparing for “action,” are conspiring with the not yet abolished imperialist governments and laying plans for the “expansion” of “their” territories.
These shadows, rotting alive, of already overthrown “great” monarchs, and these puny “national” “governments” which have been placed by the will of fate between the two tremendous conflagrations of revolution, in the East and in the West, are now dreaming of extinguishing the general fire of revolution in Europe, of perpetuating their ludicrous existence, of turning back the wheel of history! . . .
That which the “sovereign” monarchs of “great” Germany and Austria-Hungary failed to accomplish, these petty “kinglets” dream of accomplishing “at one stroke,” with the help of a couple of disorganized whiteguard “regiments.” We do not doubt that the mighty waves of revolution in Russia and the West will ruthlessly sweep away the counter-revolutionary dreamers in the occupied regions. We do not doubt that the hour is near when the “kinglets” of these regions will follow in the footsteps of their former “sovereign” patrons in Russia and Germany.
We have no reason to doubt that the counter-revolutionary partition wall between the revolutionary West and socialist Russia will in the end be swept away.
The first signs of revolution in the occupied regions have already appeared. The strikes in Estland, the demonstrations in Latvia, the general strike in the Ukraine, the universal revolutionary ferment in Finland, Poland and Latvia—all these are the first signs. Needless to say, revolution and Soviet governments in these regions are matters of the very near future.
Proletarian revolution, awe-inspiring and mighty, is on the march through the world. The old “lords” of the earth in the East and the West bend their heads before it in fear and trembling, and their old crowns are falling. The occupied regions and their petty “kinglets” can be no exception.

Между социалистической Россией и революционным Западом образовалось средостение
в виде оккупированных областей.
В то время, как в России уже больше года развевается красное знамя, а на Западе,
в Германии и Австро-Венгрии, взрывы пролетарских восстаний разрастаются но по
дням, а по часам, – в оккупированных областях, в Финляндии, Эстляндии, Латвии,
Литве, Белоруссии, Польше, Бессарабии, на Украине, в Крыму, продолжают влачить
жалкое существование буржуазно-националистические “правительства” милостью
отживающих свой век империалистов Запада.
В то время, как на Востоке и Западе уже сброшены в преисподнюю “великие” короли
и “державные” империалисты, – в оккупированных областях продолжают хозяйничать
мелкие корольки и карликовые хищники, творя бесчинства и насилия над рабочими и
крестьянами, арестовывая и расстреливая их.
Более того, они, эти отжившие свой век “правительства”, лихорадочно организуют свои “национальные”
белогвардейские “полки”, готовятся к “выступлениям”, шушукаясь с пока еще не
ликвидированными империалистическими правительствами, строя планы о “расширении”
“своей” территории.
Они, эти заживо разлагающиеся тени уже свергнутых “великих” королей, эти
карликовые “национальные” “правительства”, оказавшиеся волею судеб между двух
грандиозных костров революции Востока и Запада, мечтают теперь потушить общий
революционный пожар в Европе, сохранить свое курьезное существование, повернуть
назад колесо истории!..
То, что не удалось сделать “державным” королям “великой” Германии и
Австро-Венгрии, эти маленькие “корольки” мечтают сделать “одним взмахом”, с
помощью пары дезорганизованных белогвардейских “полков”.
Мы не сомневаемся, что мощные волны революции в России и на Западе безжалостно
сметут контрреволюционных мечтателей в оккупированных областях. Мы не
сомневаемся, что близок тот час, когда “корольки” этих областей пойдут по стопам
своих бывших “державных” покровителей в России и Германии.
Мы не имеем основания не верить, что контрреволюционное средостение между
революционным Западом и социалистической Россией будет, наконец, сметено.
Уже появились первые признаки революции в оккупированных областях. Забастовки в
Эстляндии, демонстрации в Латвии, общая забастовка на Украине, общее
революционное брожение в Финляндии, Польше, Латвии, – все это первые ласточки.
Нечего и говорить, что революция и советские правительства в этих областях –
дело ближайшего времени.
Грозно и могущественно шествует по земле пролетарская революция. Со страхом и
трепетом склоняют перед ней головы бывшие “властители” мира на Востоке и Западе,
роняя старые короны. Оккупированные области и их мелкие “корольки” не могут быть
исключением.

Entre la Rusia socialista y el Occidente revolucionario, las regiones ocupadas forman una pared medianera. Mientras que en Rusia hace ya más de un año ondea la bandera roja y en Occidente, en Alemania y en Austria-Hungría, los estallidos de las insurrecciones proletarias crecen, no por días, sino por horas, en las regiones ocupadas, en Finlandia, Estlandia, Letonia, Lituania, Bielorrusia, Polonia, Besarabia, Ucrania y Crimea continúan arrastrando una vida miserable los “gobiernos” nacionalistas burgueses, “gobiernos” por la gracia de los imperialistas del Occidente, cuya vida toca a su fin. Mientras que en el Este y el Oeste han sido ya enviados al averno los “grandes” reyes y los imperialistas “soberanos”, en las regiones ocupadas continúan gobernando a su antojo reyezuelos y rapaces pigmeos, cometiendo tropelías y violencias contra los obreros y los campesinos, deteniéndoles y fusilándoles. Es más: estos “gobiernos”, que ya viven más de la cuenta, organizan febrilmente sus “regimientos” “nacionales” de guardias blancos, se preparan para “actuar”, cuchicheando con los gobiernos imperialistas todavía no liquidados, trazando planes de “ensanchamiento” de “su” territorio. ¡Estas sombras, que se pudren en vida, de los “grandes” reyes ya derrocados, estos “gobiernos” “nacionales” enanos, que, por voluntad del destino, se encuentran entre las dos grandiosas hogueras de la revolución del Este y del Oeste, sueñan ahora con sofocar el incendio revolucionario general en Europa, con mantener su ridícula existencia, con volver atrás la rueda de la historia!.. Lo que no han conseguido los reyes “soberanos” de la “gran” Alemania y de Austria-Hungría, sueñan hacerlo estos “reyezuelos” “de un solo golpe”, con ayuda de un par de desorganizados “regimientos” de guardias blancos. No dudamos de que las poderosas olas de la revolución en Rusia y en Occidente barrerán implacablemente de las regiones ocupadas a los soñadores contrarrevolucionarios. No dudamos de que está cercana la hora en que los “reyezuelos” de estas regiones habrán de seguir las huellas de sus antiguos y “soberanos” protectores en Rusia y en Alemania. No tenemos ningún motivo para no creer que, a la postre, será barrida la contrarrevolucionaria pared medianera entre el Occidente revolucionario y la Rusia socialista. Han aparecido ya los primeros indicios de la revolución en las regiones ocupadas. Las huelgas de Estlandia, las manifestaciones de Letonia, la huelga general de Ucrania, la efervescencia revolucionaria general en Finlandia, en Polonia, en Letonia, son las primeras golondrinas. Ni que decir tiene que la revolución y los gobiernos soviéticos en estas regiones son cosa de un futuro muy próximo. La revolución proletaria marcha por la tierra con paso temible y poderoso. Espantados y trémulos inclinan ante ella sus cabezas los antiguos “árbitros” del mundo en el Este y el Oeste, dejando caer las viejas coronas. Las regiones ocupadas y sus “reyezuelos” no pueden ser una excepción.
