Nashe Vremya, 17 No. 97 (evening edition), prints a dispatch from its own correspondent giving the text of a German wireless message from Constantinople which alleges that “the Bolsheviks, having received strong reinforcements from Turkestan and Astrakhan, passed to the offensive, and, notwithstanding the heroic resistance of the Moslems, captured the city of Baku.” I publicly declare that this provocative message is devoid of all truth.
Baku recognized the power of the Soviets from the first days of the revolution, and recognizes it now. There was no Bolshevik attack on Baku, nor could there have been. There was merely an adventurist attack of a handful of Tatar and Russian landlords and generals, who suffered complete fiasco because of the detestation in which they are held by the Moslem and Russian workers and peasants. There was no fight between Bolsheviks and Moslems, nor could there have been. The Baku Soviet power was, and remains, the power of the workers and peasants of all the nationalities of Baku and the Baku area, and, above all, the power of the
Moslem people.

В № 97 “Нашего Времени”[17] (вечерний выпуск) сообщается со слов собственного
корреспондента текст германской радиотелеграммы из Константинополя, говорящей о
том, что “большевики, получив сильное подкрепление из Туркестана и Астрахани,
перешли в наступление, причем, несмотря на геройское сопротивление мусульман,
большевики взяли город Баку”.
Заявляю во всеуслышание, что эта провокаторская радиотелеграмма не имеет ничего
общего с действительностью.
Баку с самого начала революции признавал и признает доселе власть Советов.
Никакого наступления на Баку со стороны большевиков не было и не могло быть.
Было лишь авантюристское наступление кучки татарских и русских помещиков и
генералов, потерпевшее полное фиаско ввиду решительно отрицательного отношения к
этой кучке со стороны мусульманских и русских рабочих и крестьян. Никакой борьбы
большевиков с мусульманами не было и не могло быть. Власть Бакинского Совета
представляла и представляет власть рабочих и крестьян всех национальностей Баку
и его района и, прежде всего, власть мусульманского народа.

En el núm. 97 de “Nashe Vremia”17 (edición vespertina) se da cuenta del texto -según la referencia de su corresponsal- de un radiograma alemán desde Constantinopla comunicando que “los bolcheviques, después de recibir numerosos refuerzos del Turkestán y de Astrajan, han pasado a la ofensiva y que, pese a la heroica resistencia de los musulmanes, han tomado la ciudad de Bakú”. Declaro, para conocimiento general, que este radiograma de carácter provocador no tiene nada que ver con la realidad. Desde el comienzo mismo de la revolución, Bakú ha reconocido, y sigue reconociendo, el Poder de los Soviets. Los bolcheviques no han emprendido ni podían emprender ninguna ofensiva sobre Bakú. Lo que ha habido, sí, es una ofensiva aventurera de un grupo de terratenientes y de generales tártaros y rusos, que ha sufrido un fracaso completo, en vista de la actitud de los obreros y de los campesinos musulmanes y rusos, resueltamente contraria a ese grupo. No ha habido ni podía haber ninguna lucha de los bolcheviques contra los musulmanes.
