Moscow. Kremlin. Comrade Lenin. From Lozovaya.
The fierce fighting continues with increasing intensity; today we shall probably lose Aleksandrovsk. I received your memorandum on the division of fronts -- the Politburo should not waste its time on trifles. I can continue working at the front for a maximum of two more weeks; I need rest -- find a replacement. I do not trust the Commander-in-Chief's promises for a minute; he only lets us down with his promises. As for the mood in the CC in favor of peace with Poland, one cannot help noting that our diplomacy sometimes very successfully ruins the results of our military successes.

Жестокие бои продолжаются с возрастающей силой, должно быть, сегодня потеряем Александровск. Вашу записку о разделении фронтов получил, не следовало бы Политбюро заниматься пустяками. Я могу работать на фронте еще максимум две недели, нужен отдых, поищите заместителя. Обещаниям Главкома не верю ни на минуту, он своими обещаниями только подводит. Что касается настроения ЦК в пользу мира с Польшей, нельзя не заметить, что наша дипломатия иногда очень удачно срывает результаты наших военных успехов.
