Dear Comrade!
The coming revolution in Germany is the most important world event of our day. The victory of the revolution in Germany will have a more profound significance for the proletariat of Europe and America than the victory of the Russian revolution six years ago. The victory of the German proletariat will undoubtedly shift the center of the world revolution from Moscow to Berlin. Die Rote Fahne can congratulate itself on a serious achievement, for it has proved to be a reliable beacon illuminating the German proletariat's path to victory and helping it once again to become the leader of the proletariat of Europe. With all my heart I wish Die Rote Fahne new decisive successes in the coming battles for the power of the proletariat, for the integrity and independence of the emerging workers' Germany.

NOTE
The editor-in-chief of the KPD newspaper Die Rote Fahne, A. Thalheimer, sent Stalin a request on September 13, 1923, to write a short piece for the newspaper in connection with the paper's "Recruitment Week" campaign. The reply was published in Die Rote Fahne on October 10.

Дорогой товарищ!
Грядущая революция в Германии является важным мировым событием наших дней. Победа революции в Германии будет иметь для пролетариата Европы и Америки более существенное значение, чем победа русской революции шесть лет назад. Победа германского пролетариата несомненно переместит центр мировой революции из Москвы в Берлин. “Роте Фане” может поздравить себя с серьезным успехом, ибо он оказался надежным маяком, освещающим германскому пролетариату путь к победе и помогает ему стать вновь вождем пролетариата Европы. От всей души желаю “Роте Фане” новых решающих успехов в грядущих битвах за власть пролетариата, за целость и независимость рождающейся трудовой Германии.

Ответственный редактор газеты КПГ “Die Rote Fahne” А. Тальгеймер послал 13 сентября 1923 года Сталину просьбу написать маленькую заметку для газеты в связи с проводившейся газетой “Неделей вербовки”. Ответ был опубликован в “Die Rote Fahne” 10 октября.
