The old Leninist Guard has lost another of its finest leaders and fighters. The Party has sustained another irreparable loss.
Standing now at Comrade Dzerzhinsky’s bier and looking back at his whole life’s path—prison, penal servitude and exile, the Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution, the restoration of the ruined transport system, the building of our young socialist industry—one feels that the characteristic of his seething life was a FIERY ARDOUR.
The October Revolution allotted him in an exacting post, that of head of the Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution. No name was more hated by the bourgeoisie than that of Dzerzhinsky, who repelled the blows of the enemies of the proletarian revolution with a hand of steel. “The terror of the bourgeoisie” was the name given in those days to Comrade Felix Dzerzhinsky.
When the “period of peace” began, Comrade Dzerzhinsky continued his seething activities. He applied his burning energy to putting in order the dislocated transport system, and then, as Chairman of the Supreme
Council of National Economy, he worked with equal ardour to build up our industry. Never resting, never shunning the roughest work, gallantly contending with difficulties and overcoming them, and dedicating all his strength and energy to the task entrusted to him by the Party, he burnt out his life, working in the interests of the proletariat, and for the victory of communism. Farewell, hero of October! Farewell, loyal son of the Party!

Старая ленинская гвардия потеряла еще одного из лучших руководителей и бойцов.
Партия понесла еще одну незаменимую потерю.
Когда теперь, у раскрытого гроба, вспоминаешь весь пройденный путь тов.
Дзержинского – тюрьмы, каторгу, ссылку, Чрезвычайную Комиссию по борьбе с
контрреволюцией, восстановление разрушенного транспорта, строительство молодой
социалистической промышленности, – хочется одним словом охарактеризовать эту
кипучую жизнь: ГОРЕНИЕ.
Октябрьская революция поставила его на тяжелый пост, – на пост руководителя
Чрезвычайной Комиссии по борьбе с контрреволюцией. Буржуазия не знала более
ненавистного имени, чем имя Дзержинского, отражавшего стальной рукой удары
врагов пролетарской революции. “Гроза буржуазии” – так звали тогда тов. Феликса
Дзержинского.
После наступления “мирного периода” тов. Дзержинский продолжает свою кипучую
работу. Тов. Дзержинский горит, налаживая расстроенный транспорт, а затем в
качестве председателя Высшего совета народного хозяйства горит на работе
строительства нашей промышленности. Не зная отдыха, не чураясь никакой черной
работы, отважно борясь с трудностями и преодолевая их, отдавая все свои силы,
всю свою энергию делу, которое ему доверила партия, – он сгорел на работе во имя
интересов пролетариата, во имя победы коммунизма.
Прощай, герой Октября! Прощай, верный сын партии!
Прощай, строитель единства и мощи нашей партии!

(Con motivo de su muerte). Después de Frunze, Dzerzhinski. La vieja guardia leninista ha perdido a otro de sus mejores dirigentes y luchadores. El Partido sufre otra pérdida irreparable. Cuando ahora, ante el féretro abierto, recordamos todo el camino recorrido por el camarada Dzerzhinski -la cárcel, el presidio, el destierro, la Comisión Extraordinaria de lucha con la contrarrevolución, el restablecimiento del transporte arruinado, la construcción de la joven industria socialista-, se quiere definir con una sola palabra esta vida impetuosa: FERVOR. La Revolución de Octubre le llevó al difícil puesto de dirigente de la Comisión Extraordinaria de lucha con la contrarrevolución. Para la burguesía no había nombre más odiado que el de Dzerzhinski, el hombre que repelía con mano de acero los golpes de los enemigos de la revolución proletaria. “El terror de la burguesía”: así se llamaba entonces al camarada Félix Dierzhinski. Cuando hubo llegado el “período pacífico”, el camarada Dzerzhinski prosiguió su impetuosa labor. El camarada Dzerzhinski es todo fervor al poner orden en el transporte desorganizado, es todo fervor, después, en el trabajo de construcción de nuestra industria, como presidente del Consejo Supremo de la Economía Nacional. Sin darse punto de descanso, sin rehuir ningún trabajo penoso, luchando audazmente contra las dificultades y venciéndolas, entregando todas sus fuerzas, su energía toda a la obra que le confiara el Partido, consume su vida trabajando en aras de los intereses del proletariado, en aras de la victoria del comunismo. ¡Descansa en paz, héroe de Octubre! ¡Descansa en paz, hijo fiel del Partido! ¡Descansa en paz, constructor de la unidad y de la fuerza de nuestro Partido!
