TO THE STUDENTS OF THE COMMUNIST UNIVERSITY OF THE TOILERS OF THE EAST

A los estudiantes de la universidad comunista de los trabajadores del oriente
Dear Comrades,
Two years ago, when I addressed you on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the Communist University of the Toilers of the East, I spoke of the tasks of the University both in relation to the Soviet Republics and in relation to the oppressed countries of the East.67 The University, in performance of its tasks, is now sending into the fire of battle new cadres of fighters, its fourth set of graduates, representatives of 74 nationalities, comrades armed with the mighty weapon of Leninism.
These comrades are starting out on their militant labours at one of the most crucial moments of history, when world imperialism, and British imperialism in the first place, is trying to seize the Chinese revolution by the throat and is at the same time casting a challenge to the first proletarian state in the world—the Soviet Union—in the hope of annihilating this mighty and unshakeable bulwark of the proletarians of all countries.
Greeting our comrades who have just graduated, I express my firm conviction that they will perform with honour their duty towards the proletariat and will devote all their energies and knowledge to the cause of emancipating the toiling people of the East from imperialist oppression.

Дорогие товарищи!
Два года назад, выступая у вас по поводу четырёхлетия существования КУТВ, я
говорил о задачах университета как в отношении советских республик, так и в
отношении угнетённых стран Востока.
Выполняя свои задачи, университет посылает сейчас в огонь борьбы новые кадры
борцов, свой четвёртый выпуск окончивших университет слушателей, представляющих
74 национальности, товарищей, вооружённых могучим оружием ленинизма.
Товарищи идут на боевую работу в один из ответственнейших моментов истории, в
момент, когда мировой и, прежде всего, английский империализм пытается схватить
за горло китайскую революцию и в то же время бросает вызов первому в мире
пролетарскому государству - Советскому Союзу - в надежде уничтожить
непоколебимый и могучий оплот пролетариев всех стран.
Приветствуя товарищей выпускников, выражаю твёрдую уверенность, что они с честью
выполнят свой долг перед пролетариатом и отдадут все свои силы и знания делу
освобождения трудящихся Востока от гнёта империализма.

Queridos camaradas: Hace dos años, con motivo del cuarto aniversario de la fundación de la U.C.T.O., os hablé de las tareas de la Universidad, tanto en relación a las repúblicas soviéticas como a los países oprimidos del Oriente68. En cumplimiento de su misión, la Universidad envía ahora al fuego de la lucha a nuevos combatientes, la cuarta promoción de alumnos que han terminado sus estudios, camaradas pertenecientes a 74 nacionalidades, pertrechados con el arma poderosa del leninismo. Los camaradas van a un trabajo de combate en uno de los momentos más importantes de la historia, en el momento en que el imperialismo mundial -y en primer término el inglés- trata de acogotar a la revolución china y, al mismo tiempo, lanza un reto a la Unión Soviética, el primer Estado proletario del mundo, con la esperanza de destruir el inconmovible y poderoso baluarte de los proletarios de todos los países. Al saludar a los camaradas que ahora terminan los estudios, expreso la convicción firme de que cumplirán honrosamente su deber para con el proletariado y entregarán todas sus energías y sus conocimientos para liberar a los trabajadores del Oriente del yugo del imperialismo.
