To Kaganovich. Postyshev, Ordzhonikidze.

Well, dear friends, another squabble. I am referring to Beria and Orakhelashvili, and I enclose herewith two letters from Orakhelashvili: one addressed to me, the other to Ordzhonikidze.

My opinion: despite all the roughness in Beria's "actions," it is still Orakhelashvili who is in the wrong in this matter. Orakhelashvili's request must be refused. If Orakhelashvili disagrees with the decision of the CC of Georgia, he can appeal to the Transcaucasian Krai Committee and, ultimately, to the CC VKP. But there is no reason for him to leave. I fear that Orakhelashvili's pride is in the foreground (his people have been "picked apart"), rather than the interests of the cause and of constructive work. Everyone says that constructive work is going well in Georgia and that the mood among the peasants has improved. And that is the main thing in the work.
