On behalf of the Soviet government and on my own behalf, I express to you my deep and sincere condolences on the occasion of the untimely death of the President of the United States, Franklin Roosevelt.
The American people and the United Nations have lost a great politician of world significance and a champion of the organization of peace and security after the war.
The Government of the Soviet Union expresses its sincere sympathy to the American people in their great loss and its confidence that the policy of cooperation between the Great Powers, which was pursued by the late President, will continue in the future.
